“I am committed to our young people receiving a quality public education that will enable them to transform their environments and become leaders in their own communities. After living in a few of America’s largest cities, I recognize the glaring need for reform in the urban education system. It’s clear that one of our society’s core responsibilities is to ensure that the foundation of our communities is strengthened through the provision of quality public education to all children. Through Broad, I will use my experiences, talents and passions to make a difference in society.”

Prior to joining The Broad Residency, Clayton Virgil served in the global industrial group of the investment banking division at Lehman Brothers. Previously, Virgil spent over six years in the publishing arena with Time Inc., first as a retail marketing manager crafting marketing and distribution strategies for a number of Time Inc. publications. He then worked as a planning and finance manager for Sports Illustrated and Sports Illustrated for Kids, managing the strategic planning process, data analytics and financial management for both titles’ consumer marketing teams. Virgil currently serves on the board for EPIC Academy, a contract high school serving students in the South Chicago community and has provided consulting services for a Chicago-based education management organization.
